Summitly on your phone and your computer

Summitly runs on your computer today as an installable app: open Summitly.ca in Chrome or Edge and choose Install, or in Safari on a Mac choose File, then Add to Dock. The iPhone and Android apps, coming to the App Store and Google Play, add push alerts for your saved searches, home-screen widgets and optional alerts for homes you pass.

Computer

Install Summitly on your computer

The same Summitly, in its own window, from your dock or taskbar. Free, no store needed.

Chrome or Edge (Windows, Mac, ChromeOS)

Open Summitly.ca, then choose the Install icon at the right of the address bar, or the browser menu, then Install Summitly.

Safari (Mac)

On macOS Sonoma or later, open Summitly.ca, then choose File, then Add to Dock.

On iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open the Chrome menu, then Add to Home screen.

What the apps add

  • Push alerts for new listings and price changes on your saved searches.
  • Home-screen widgets with your saved homes and new alerts.
  • "Homes I pass": an optional alert when you pass a home that matches a saved search. Off unless you turn it on; no location history is kept.
  • Share homes with your system share sheet.

Is there a Summitly app?

Yes, for computers: Summitly.ca installs as an app from Chrome, Edge or Safari. The iPhone and Android apps are being prepared for the App Store and Google Play; join the list on this page to get an email when they launch.

What does the phone app do that the website does not?

Push notifications for new listings and price changes on your saved searches, home-screen widgets with your saved homes and alerts, and an optional "Homes I pass" alert when you walk or drive past a home that matches a saved search. Everything else is the same Summitly you use on the web.

Does "Homes I pass" track my location?

It is off unless you turn it on. When on, it checks at most every 5 minutes and 500 metres, sends only a rounded location to look for matches, and stores no location history.

Is the app free?

Yes. Summitly's search, alerts and Zara are free on the web and in the apps.
