Who should choose RE/MAX, and who should choose Summitly
Choose RE/MAX if…
- You want a specific RE/MAX office whose broker-owner, split and culture you already know and like.
- You value RE/MAX's own training catalogue (RE/MAX University, Aspire).
Choose Summitly if…
- You want the Coldwell Banker brand plus a consumer AI platform (Zara, instant valuations, MLS® search) behind your listings.
- You want one brokerage's published split and fees rather than terms that vary office by office.
At RE/MAX, the office is the offer
Because RE/MAX offices are independently owned, two offices under the same sign can quote very different splits, desk fees and support. Ask the broker-owner of the office you are considering for the full schedule rather than relying on the brand. RE/MAX's own training — RE/MAX University and the Aspire programme — is available across the network.
How to compare RE/MAX and Summitly fairly
- Ask both for the split, every fee and any cap at your realistic deal count — in writing.
- Add twelve months of fixed fees and per-deal fees to the split.
- Subtract what you would pay yourself for leads, marketing and technology one provides and the other does not.
- Check both on RECO's public register before you sign.
Brokerage Leads
We give you warm leads. Never shared. And we help you close them.
When someone contacts Summitly about buying, selling or renting, we hand the lead to one agent — you. Agents on the Leads Plan ($299 + HST a month, no transaction fees, 90/10 on your own deals) receive them: no charge per lead, 50/50 when it closes, and a senior broker to help you convert. We don't promise a number of leads.
- Warm: they contacted us first
- Not shared: one lead, one agent
- Leads Plan: $299 + HST a month, no transaction fees · 50/50 on close
- Coaching to convert, every step

RE/MAX vs Summitly for agents: FAQ
Should I join Summitly or RE/MAX in Ontario?
Both are legitimate. RE/MAX gives you a specific office's terms and the RE/MAX training catalogue; Summitly gives you the Coldwell Banker brand and Summitly's consumer AI platform. Summitly (Coldwell Banker Summit Realty) has two packages for your own business. Package A is a 95/5 split with a $200 + HST monthly fee and $799 + HST on each of your first 4 completed transactions in a calendar year. Package B is 90/10 with $125 + HST a month and $499 + HST on the first 4, moving to 95/5 for the rest of the year after $100,000 GCI. A $500 minimum brokerage share applies per completed transaction, starting with transaction 5 in each calendar year; see your agreement for tax treatment and details. To receive brokerage leads, agents join the Leads Plan: $299 + HST a month, no transaction fees, 90/10 on their own deals, and 50/50 on deals from leads the brokerage provides.
What commission split does RE/MAX pay?
RE/MAX does not publish a national split: each independently owned office sets its own split, desk fee and cap. Ask the broker-owner for the full schedule in writing.
Does the Real–RE/MAX merger change anything for RE/MAX agents?
The combination closed on August 24, 2026 and formed Real REMAX Group Inc.; both brands continue for now. Ask your office whether any terms are changing.
How do I move my registration to Summitly?
Give your current brokerage written notice; as your new brokerage we complete the transfer in RECO's MyWeb portal, within 60 days of the termination's effective date. Listings are held by your current brokerage, so moving one needs the seller's agreement — we plan the timing with you.
